Green Pool Treatment & Algae Removal
We restore even the greenest pools back to sparkling blue water you can swim in.

Why Pools Turn Green
A green pool is not just ugly. It is a sign that algae has taken over. Algae grows fast in Florida's warm climate, especially when your pool's chemical balance gets off track. It only takes a week or two of neglect for a clear pool to turn cloudy, and then bright green.
You might think you can fix it yourself by adding some chlorine, but algae is stubborn. Once it gets established, it clings to your pool walls and floor. Regular chlorine is not strong enough to kill it completely. That is where professional treatment comes in.
We see green pools all the time here in Estero. Maybe your pool service stopped coming, or you went on vacation and came back to a swamp. Whatever happened, we can fix it. We have the tools, chemicals, and experience to turn your green pool back into the beautiful, clear water you remember.
Our Treatment Process
Getting rid of algae takes more than just dumping chemicals in the water. We follow a proven process that eliminates algae completely and prevents it from coming back:
Step 1: Assessment and Testing
First, we test your water to see exactly what we are dealing with. We check pH, alkalinity, chlorine levels, and other factors. This tells us how aggressive the treatment needs to be.
Step 2: Shock Treatment
We apply a powerful shock treatment that raises the chlorine level high enough to kill the algae. This is way stronger than regular pool chlorine. The water might look even cloudier at first, but that is normal. It means the treatment is working.
Step 3: Brushing and Circulation
While the chemicals do their job, we brush every surface of your pool. This breaks up the algae so the chemicals can reach it. We make sure your pump and filter run continuously to circulate the treatment throughout the entire pool.
Step 4: Filtration and Vacuuming
Once the algae dies, it settles to the bottom as sediment. We vacuum it all out and clean or backwash your filter multiple times. This step is critical. If any dead algae stays in the pool, it can cause problems later.
Step 5: Balancing and Follow-Up
After removing the algae, we rebalance your water chemistry to safe swimming levels. We also recommend a follow-up visit to make sure everything stays clear. For ongoing protection, check out our weekly pool cleaning service.
What to Expect During Treatment
Green pool recovery takes time. It is not an instant fix. Depending on how bad the algae is, it usually takes 3 to 7 days to fully clear your pool. Here is what that looks like:
- •Day 1: We shock the pool and start the treatment. Water might look milky or cloudy.
- •Days 2-3: Dead algae settles to the bottom. We vacuum and clean the filter.
- •Days 4-5: Water starts clearing up. We retest and adjust chemicals as needed.
- •Days 6-7: Pool is crystal clear and safe for swimming again.
Some pools clear faster, especially if we catch the problem early. Others take longer if the algae was severe or if there are underlying issues with your pool filter or equipment. We will give you an honest timeline during our assessment.
